If you’ve been bike-shopping lately, you’ll probably know that electric bikes of all varieties, including electric motorbikes, are in short supply. High demand, a stretched supply chain and shipping delays are causing havoc around the world.
But what if you want a bike now? First, you should know that we are doing everything we can to deliver our 2021 bikes to market. Most of our dealers now have demo bikes so that you can at least take a test ride. And in fact, some even have UBCO 2X2s for sale, so you could be in luck depending where you live!
3 ways to get an UBCO 2X2 in the shortest possible time
Our 2X2s are selling out fast. Wondering how to get your hands on one? Here are 3 ways.
- Check whether your local UBCO dealer has bikes available
Some of our dealers still have bikes available so you could be in luck! Find your nearest dealer and ask the question. Or drop us an email and we can check for you.
- Pre-order with your local UBCO dealer
Drop in to your closest UBCO dealer and take a 2X2 for a test ride. You can secure your spot in the queue by placing a pre-order with your dealer. Every dealer has their own process for securing a pre-order so some may ask for a deposit. Then when your bike arrives, they’ll contact you to arrange final payment and pick-up.
- Pre-order online
There are two ways to order UBCO products online. At checkout you can select from either ‘Click & Collect’ or ‘Deliver to Me’. In both instances, you’ll be asked to pay a $1000 deposit which will be subtracted from your final payment.
If you select Click & Collect, you’ll be asked to select the dealer you want to collect your bike and/or accessories from. They will take care of any assembly for you. This is a good option if you don’t feel confident completing the final assembly. When your bike arrives, the dealer will contact you to arrange final payment and pick-up.
If you select Deliver to Me, your order will be delivered to you. When your bike arrives, we’ll contect you to arrange final payment and shipping. Note, for the 2×2 some assembly is required. All instructions are included in the box and you need a few basic tools. Also note, this is a large, heavy item that will be delivered by a truck.
What is a pre-order?
When there are no bikes available, you can make a pre-order. You may be asked to pay a deposit. This effectively secures your place on the waiting list. When bikes arrive in the country, they’ll be supplied in order of pre-orders placed. It’s the fastest way to get your hands on the bike you want!
What happens to your deposit?
If you pay a deposit, either the dealer or UBCO will hold that deposit for you and subtract it form the total payable amount when your bike arrives. Delivery costs and taxes will be calculated and added to the final payment when the item(s) are ready for dispatch.
Your deposit will be held by UBCO or the UBCO dealer you chose to buy from. This deposit is fully refundable should you wish to cancel your order (but remember you will then lose your place in the queue).
What is the wait time?
This is a tricky question. It depends on how many pre-orders we have in the system vs the bikes we have coming in. We are currently expecting bikes in April 2021 and every couple of months thereafter. That’s why making a pre-order is so important as it secures your bike at the earliest possible time.
